Frequently Asked Questions - this page will grow as we log the questions we get!
Is there year round access? Yes, roads are plowed in the winter but you still need 4x4. If members of your group don't have 4 wheel drive there
are lots available to park at, permits required.
How much parking space is there? 6 easily and yo
ucan still use the rounud-about, 10 if you pack it. NO STREET PARKING ever, you'll be towed without notice.
How far is Park City / Sundance?
Sundance is 30 minutes, Park City is 30 minutes from the bottom of Timberlakes. City limits are sage
brush, so I think when people want to know how far away Park City is they mena the shops, dining, old town... and many cabins
will tell you they are 20 minutes to Park City, well they must have a helipad and included service. We are 5 minutes to the
bottom of Timber Lakes, so 35 minutes to Old Town.
What is the best skiing? See our Skiiers
page, closest lifts are backside Deer Valley lifts 20-25 minutes away.
Can
we walk through the cabin before hand? About
twice a year we get this request, meaning you are one of the 4% of people who want to see the cabin in person in advance.
Yes, you can schedule this, it is $100 to do so, nonrefundable. Since no one lives at the cabin full time it takes some
doing to give you a walk-through, plan when it is clean, unbooked, agent being available.... For the other 96% of our
guests the photos have done fine.
Where
is the cabin? We have a page about this, we are about 9 miles due east of Heber City
Utah up Lake Creek Canyon on the mountain at 7600ft in the aspen trees; we are in a gated private area called Timber Lakes.
We send directions 2 weeks before you arrive, for security reasons we do not give out the location on our website.
Can we park an RV, Boat, etc.?
Yes, but it clogs up the round-about driveway.... so plan accordingly. You can get a park permit to put
it in the lot at the bottom (3miles away).
How far from... SLC is 55 min, 65 to SLC airport, 45 to Provo, 30 to Park City
downtown, 12 hours to the beach. Times vary with snow, Utah drivers, Heber cattle drives... Midway is 20 minutes, Sundance
is 30ish depending on roads.
Snowmobiles... See our snowmobiling page, click on the button at the
bottom of this page.
Sledding...
Same as above. ATVs, yup, that too. We built a whole page for ya'll.
What are your Rates... We don't have exact rates published because they are both complicated and if we
change them it's too much work to alter 6 websites... they depend on season, duration of stay and group size; submit
a rate request on the rates page!
Can
we do the cleaning? Sure, but since you are not
our pro team they will still need to show up and remake the beds, fold things, polish, dust, touch up... AND charge
us, so we charge you.... we tried it, didn't work, it was still costing guests $100. So if you want to waste 6 hrs of your
vacation to save 30 to 60 bucks knock yourself out... so why are you coming on vacation?
How many bedrooms?
We have 2 masters, 2 additional bedrooms and a kid's loft (5ft ceiling and pulldown stair access) Pull out
beds are in other areas as well like in the kitchen, the fridge is also a murphy bed.... just kidding.
Where can we Waterski?
We have two local area, both about 20 min away, Jordanelle Res and Deer Creek Res; Jordanelle has a full rental
shop of everything you can think of; as for Jen or Bart, they rock.
Is there Fishing/ Boating? Loaded question, read the Timber Lakes area page, too lengthy for here. World class fishing on the Provo River in
town is 15 min away as well.
Do you
accept pets? Only pets that do not excerete waste, usually stuffed with foam pellets. Seriously, we tried it, with all of the wildlife passing the
cabin at night pets go nuts. If you have a seeing eye dog call us to talk about it, you need to have the paperwork; otherwise
give yourself a better nights sleep and leave rover with the inlaws.
Do we bring bedding? No,
see our amenitiies page, you are well hooked up when you stay with us. Bedding towels, sheets... you can even use our communal
toothbrushes- kidding.
Can
we camp outside? Yes, we recomend keeping it to the deck
though, I'd hate for a 1800 pound moose to leave your kiddo with a new hoof tatoo.
How many people can lay down on your floor?
I have actually been asked that, I have no idea... ommmmmmmm
Do you have a hot tub? Yes, and we just upgraded
to a 6+ person tub. It has a view of the stars, is very close to the door (no 100m sprint in Jan)
